Alcatraz Need-to-Know
This ticket includes admission to Alcatraz and return ferry transfers from Pier 33. After booking, please email Alcatraz@bigbustours.com with your booking reference, preferred Alcatraz tour date, lead guest name, and names for all other guests included in the booking (and ages if they are under 18). This must be confirmed at least 5 days in advance of your visit. Same-day bookings are not available. Please redeem your e-tickets at our 99 Jefferson St Information Center the day before (or up until 10:00am the day of) your Alcatraz visit. Photo ID is required for each adult in the group over the age of 18. Alcatraz tour times are considered confirmed tickets once a time has been allocated and cannot be changed. On which days does the tour operate?
The Big Bus tour of San Francisco operates every day of the year.
What is the food and drink policy?
No food or alcohol is permitted on board the bus. Non-alcoholic drinks in screw-top bottles are permitted.
Is the tour wheelchair accessible?
Yes, Big Bus vehicles accommodate wheelchairs up to 650 lbs. However, the upper deck is not accessible, and attraction accessibility may vary.
How do I activate my bus ticket?
Download the Big Bus Tours app, add your booking, and tap ‘Activate’ on the day of travel. Show the activated ticket to the driver.
Where does the Sunset Tour depart?
It departs from Stop #1 (Big Bus Visitors' Center) at 6:00 PM. Arrive 20–30 minutes early as seating is first-come, first-served.
Can I split my group across different devices?
Group tickets must be activated on one device. For separate travel, print individual tickets or contact support to split your booking.
Is the commentary available in different languages?
Yes, commentary is offered in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Korean, Japanese, Russian, and Chinese.
